When faced with difficult times, we tend to not be in the right state of mind to make important decisions. Which is one of the reasons why Foreclosure scams tend to flourish, because it plays out in the fact that you are “not thinking straight”.
Homeowner’s facing foreclosures are exposed to people who will say or do anything to take advantage of their bad situation. For that very reason I have dedicated this week’s blog to post a very useful video that Fannie Mae has made to Avoid and Prevent you for Falling in those Popular Scams.
Statistics are showing that 1 in 5 households are in danger or facing foreclosure right now, and the number are forecasted to continue through the year 2010.
Most likely if you are not facing foreclosure, or falling behind in your payments, you probably will know someone who is. If is not in your immediate circle of friends and family it can be a co-worker or someone in your social network that has lost their jobs.
Although this is a topic that most people won’t discuss freely or voluntarily due to the subject matter tend to be handled privately, and they can feel embarrassed. Please be sensitive to others, and if you can bring them support please lend a hand in any way, if is not financial, but in moral support. We are all affected by it, but if we help each other, it would be towards hope and recovery faster.
